SEISMIC RETROFIT AND RENOVATION

COMPLETED COST: $2.8 million 

PROJECT SCOPE: Performed seismic upgrade, in compliance with URM hazard mitigation ordinance, to a historic landmark Church building. Work included both the church and the attached rectory buildings. The seismic upgrade included extensive work to add new flying buttresses, floor and roof diaphragms, tension and shear anchors, modifications to the roof trusses, overturning belled pier, shear walls, collectors, and chords. Shear walls were architecturally and functionally incorporated. The work also included restoration work on the terra cotta ornamentation, masonry, scagliola columns, marble, stained glass, and pipe organ. Full ADA upgrades included addition of a new elevator, restroom remodel, doors and hardware. Waterproofing included a new composite slate roof and new copper flashings. Parish Hall and bathrooms were completely remodeled and upgraded.

ROLE: Owners Representative. Responsible for the development of the feasibility study and itıs peer review. Assisted in development of the design. Coordinated and managed bid acquisitions. Supervised all construction. Control of change orders. Quality control.
