PROJECT SCOPE: The
work consisted of extensive remodeling and renovations to the existing
Motherhouse, originally constructed in 1973. New larger room configurations
were developed on the 2nd and 3rd floors by combining two
existing smaller bedrooms and incorporating a new bathroom facility in each. In
addition, the construction of a 2nd and 3rd floor
addition encompasses a new community room and entry vestibule. Modifications
were made to the nursing, dinning, administration and ancillary support areas.
First floor work included the remodeling and modifications to the Archives,
offices, special use rooms, computer lab, workroom and erecting a new and
larger library. Project was completed in two phases while the building was
occupied for the duration of construction. This presented many obvious
challenges, which were met and exceeded.
ROLE: Owners Representative/ Project Manager. Design review.
Permit acquisition. Value engineering. Bid review. Supervise all construction
phases. Quality control. Owner protection.
